Our own pilot, in public, updated as it runs

Case study: we ran the $397 pilot on ourselves

On September 11, 2026 we asked ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the six questions a Chicago business owner types when they look for exactly what we sell. We were named in none of the eighteen answers. This page holds the baseline, the plan, every change we make with its date, and the day-14 result on September 27, whatever it says.

Three of the eighteen answers leaned on general sites rather than a Chicago provider. The rest named tools and agencies, most of them outside Chicago. That is the normal starting point for a business that is one week old. It is also the starting point most of our clients are in, which is why we are running the pilot on ourselves first.

02

The plan the pilot wrote for us

Four fixes, the same four the pilot writes for any client after day 1.

  1. One page per question, written the way the buyer asked it. The service, the area, the price, the proof, on a page an assistant can read and cite.
  2. Cover the cited pages better. The sites named instead, askedabout.com, chatgptforbusinesses.com and chicagoseoagency.co among them, each have a page that answers one of these questions. Ours has to answer it more specifically for Chicago.
  3. Complete listings where the answers came from. The answers cited LinkedIn and general directories. Our listings there have to carry the same services and areas as the site.
  4. Business details assistants can read. LocalBusiness and Service schema with the areas we serve, plus the same facts in plain text on a contact page.

Day 1 is Monday, September 14. Day 14 is Sunday, September 27. The six questions are asked again that day on the same three engines, and the result goes on this page the same day.

Change log

Every change, dated. Nothing here is edited after the fact.

04

Questions owners ask

Short answers, no promises.

Why run the pilot on your own site?

Because we had no case study yet and a buyer should not have to take our word for it. Our own before and after, dated and public, is the first proof we can offer.

What if the day-14 count is still zero?

It goes on this page on September 27 exactly as it comes back. The point is a real record, not a good-looking one.

Are the questions the same on day 14?

Yes. The same six questions, the same three engines, compared against the stored September 11 baseline.

Is this the same pilot a client gets?

Yes. The same check, the same four-fix plan, the same day-14 re-run, for $397 once.

05

The rules we hold ourselves to

  • The day-14 read uses the same six questions, the same engines, and the same stored baseline. We do not rewrite the questions to make the result look better.
  • If the count is still zero on September 27, that number goes here. A pilot that fails in public is more useful to you than a case study that hides it.
  • No paid listings, no bought links, no fake reviews. Only the work we would do for a client.

Want the same read on your own business? Run the free check at /ai-check/. If you want the work done, the pilot is $397 once: start the 14-day pilot.
