Checklist, September 2026

What Google needs from a dealer website.

Eight items, in plain language, with what each one does for a customer searching nearby. Every item is something you can open on your phone and see. You can do them yourself, hand them to whoever runs your site, or hire anyone. Free, no sign-in, no email required.

The eight items

Three on your Google listing, five on your website

Items 01 to 03 live on your Google Business Profile. Items 04 to 08 live on your website.

  1. 01

Business Profile set up and complete

Categories, services, service area, hours, a description, the link to your site, and organized photos. Google requires the owner to do the verification step.

A customer searching your town sees the listing with the right category and hours, and the call and directions buttons work.

  2. 02

Profile and website pointing at each other

The listing links to your site, and your site links back to your own listing, so the map pin, the site and the data Google reads agree.

Google ties your reviews, hours and location to the site; the pair ranks where either one alone does not.

  3. 03

    No suspension, no mismatch

Name, address, phone and category identical on the listing, the site and the data Google reads. If the profile is suspended or not showing, the mismatches are the usual cause.

A suspended profile is invisible on the map; a mismatched one loses trust and ranking.

  4. 04

Your real Google reviews on the site

The reviews already on your listing shown on the pages where customers decide.

Buyers read reviews before they call. On the page, they do not have to leave to find them.

  5. 05

Financing on the page where customers decide

If you offer financing, the monthly-payment option appears on the product or service page, not only on a separate page.

The competitors who outrank you usually lead with a monthly payment.

  6. 06

A page for each town you serve

One page per town in your service area, each with real content about that town, tied to your listing's service area.

Without town pages, ranking stops at the city limits.

  7. 07

    A Spanish page

A page in Spanish written by a native speaker, not machine-translated. 3% of the 2,491 dealer sites we read have one.

Spanish-speaking households search in Spanish and land on whoever has one.

  8. 08

The data Google reads, on every page

Business, service and product structured data (LocalBusiness, Service, Product) on every page. If you sell units, a Merchant Center feed that matches the site.

Google can tie your repair, install and product pages to the towns you serve, and units can appear in free product listings.

Where the numbers come from: our September 2026 read of 2,491 single-location dealer websites across 13 trades, with per-brand scorecards. The free check at conectamedia.app/check reads any dealer site against these items.
