Conecta Media vs Semrush
For a local trade owner deciding between a fixed-price AI check and a full SEO suite.
Conecta Media vs Semrush AI Search
Semrush is a full SEO suite with AI visibility tracking bundled into three of its plans. We are one free check and one fixed-price job built for a local business that wants to know where it stands with ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity today, not a dashboard for a marketing team. Here is the comparison, as of September 2026.
What Semrush AI Search is
Semrush is a search marketing platform first. AI visibility tracking is one feature inside its paid plans, not a separate product.
Semrush's SEO plan costs $139 a month, as of September 2026, and does not include AI Search tracking. AI Search tracking is bundled into three higher plans instead: Starter "SEO + AI Search" at $199 a month ($165.17 billed annually), Pro+ at $299 a month ($248.17 annually), and Advanced at $549 a month ($455.67 annually), all as of September 2026. Enterprise pricing is custom. Extra users cost $45 a month and up on top of a plan, as of September 2026. These plans also carry the rest of Semrush's SEO suite alongside AI Search tracking. That is useful if a business already pays for Semrush to run its SEO. It is a lot of dashboard for an owner who just wants to know if ChatGPT names their shop.
Semrush, and tools built the same way (see our note on Peec), are made for a team that tracks many prompts, across many markets, over time, and logs in to check on it. Neither Semrush nor a tool like it does the implementation work on a business's own site. They report. Someone still has to fix what the report finds. For the fuller picture on how AI visibility tracking works across tools, see our guide at AI search optimization.
Free checker: a stored database vs a live read
Semrush's free AI visibility checker pulls from a stored database of prompts. Ours reads your site and asks the questions live, right now.
Type a domain into Semrush's free checker and it shows results from a database Semrush already built, not a live answer generated for your business today. Our free check at ai-check works differently. It reads your website's home page, robots.txt and llms.txt, writes six questions a local buyer would actually ask for your trade and your town, and asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity those questions right now with live web search turned on. It reports whether your business got named, who got named instead, and which directories the assistants quoted. Since July 23, 2026, ChatGPT has licensed Yelp reviews, ratings and business details directly into its answers, and directory pages are also among the pages ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can cite when they answer with live web search (Search Engine Land, searchengineland.com/openai-yelp-deal-483326).
No email gate, no sign-in. You can share the result page, and an emailed copy is optional. It also flags whether robots.txt is blocking AI crawlers and whether llms.txt exists, can run one competitor side by side on the same six questions, checks how the assistant describes your business, and works in English or Spanish. We line up more free checkers, Semrush's included, at free AI visibility checkers compared.
Price and what's included
One is a monthly suite built to track many prompts. The other is a free check plus a fixed-price job. Prices below as of September 2026.
| Feature | Conecta Media | Semrush (SEO + AI Search) |
|---|---|---|
| Free check | Live read of your site, six questions asked on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity today, no email gate | Free checker reads a stored database of prompts, not a live answer for your business |
| Starting price | $397 once, 14-day AI visibility pilot | $139/mo SEO plan (no AI Search); AI Search starts on the $199/mo Starter plan |
| Ongoing | $297/mo Stay Named membership, twelve questions re-asked monthly, one new answer page a month | $299/mo Pro+ or $549/mo Advanced plans track more prompts across more markets |
| Implementation | Missing-question pages, LocalBusiness or Service schema, crawler access, listing fixes, all in writing | Not included; Semrush reports, it does not build pages or fix your site |
| Built for | One local business owner checking their own visibility | A marketing team already tracking SEO through Semrush, across many prompts and markets |
Add-ons like extra Semrush users start at $45 a month on top of the plan price, as of September 2026. Neither Semrush nor Peec, which we cover in a separate comparison, does the page-building or schema work; both assume a team that already has someone to act on the report.
When Semrush is the better choice
If a team already runs its SEO through Semrush, the AI Search add-on can be the right call.
Semrush makes sense for a marketing team that already logs into Semrush every week for its SEO tools, wants AI visibility tracked in the same dashboard, and needs to watch many prompts across many markets over time. If that describes your team, adding AI Search to a plan you already pay for can cost less than running a second tool, and keeps SEO data and AI data in one login. Semrush is not built to fix what it finds. Someone on the team still has to write the pages, add the schema and clean up the listings.
We built for the business that does not have a marketing team logged into Semrush. One owner, one trade, one or two towns. A free check that answers a plain question today, and if the pilot finds real gaps, a fixed-price job to close them.
Questions owners ask
Short answers, no promises.
Does Semrush's free AI checker show my business's current results?
No. It reads from a stored database of prompts, not a live check of your business today. Our free check at /ai-check/ asks the six questions live on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity right now.
Can I get AI visibility tracking from Semrush without buying the whole SEO suite?
No. As of September 2026, AI Search tracking is bundled into the Starter, Pro+ and Advanced SEO + AI Search plans starting at $199 a month. It is not sold on its own.
Does Semrush fix pages or schema for us?
No. Semrush tracks and reports. It does not do the implementation work on your site. Our $397 pilot builds the missing pages, schema and crawler fixes for you.
When should a business pick Semrush instead of Conecta Media?
When a team already runs its SEO through Semrush and wants to track many prompts across many markets in the same dashboard. For one local business checking its own visibility, our free check and fixed-price pilot are built for that instead.
Does Conecta Media guarantee we'll be named by ChatGPT?
No one can guarantee that. Answers change over time. We re-ask the same six questions on day 14 of the pilot and show the before and after.
See where you stand
Run the free check. If it finds gaps worth fixing, the pilot is one price, in writing.
The check costs nothing to run. It reads your site, asks the six questions your buyers would ask, and shows you the same answers ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity give today, whether your business is named, who was named instead, and which directories got quoted. If it finds pages missing, schema missing or listings inconsistent, the AI visibility pilot is $397 once, 14 days, everything in writing, as of September 2026. No one can promise what an assistant will say tomorrow. Answers change over time. The day 14 re-run, before and after, is the proof we offer.
