Single-location HVAC companies, near-me search

HVAC company not ranking for near me searches: the town-page gap

You show up when someone searches your own city, but a homeowner just outside it never sees you, even though your trucks run there every week. On our September 2026 read of 2,491 dealer sites, only 39% had a separate page for each town they serve, which is usually why.

01

What Google reads

A near-me search is answered by whichever page names the town, not by your homepage alone. Here is what our September 2026 read of 2,491 single-location dealer sites found, and what each figure means for an HVAC company trying to rank outside its home city.

Town pages
39% of the 2,491 sites have a page for each town served. Without one, Google has nothing to match "[town] HVAC company" or "HVAC near me" to.
Business details
51% have service or business details in a form Google can read, meaning structured data, not prose. A page that reads fine to a person can still read as nothing to Google without it.
Profile link
59% show a Google map on the site, but only 16% link their own Business Profile in a form our crawler recognizes. A map alone does not tell Google which listing is yours.
Financing
77% mention financing anywhere on the site. A homeowner comparing HVAC companies often clicks the one that shows a monthly payment first.
Spanish page
3% have a page in Spanish. In a bilingual market, that is a second set of near-me searches going to whoever has one.

Check it in fifteen seconds

Before you take our word for any of this, read your own site the way Google does.

Paste your address into the free check. No sign-in, no email, no account access, only the public HTML of your home page and up to five more, the way a basic crawler reads it.

Run the free check

It returns a yes or no on ten checks, business details and your Business Profile link included, plus the exact pages it read, about fifteen seconds.

The fix, in order

Concrete enough to hand to whoever updates your site, or to us.

  1. List the towns you actually serve. Pull it from your own service tickets or install addresses, not a guess at your county. Every later step depends on this list.
  2. Build one page per town. The town's name goes in the H1, the services you run there, and a phone number. Reusing one paragraph on every page does not count; Google treats near-duplicate pages as one page.
  3. Add the structured data. A LocalBusiness or Service entry naming the areas you serve, written as JSON-LD, so Google reads it as data rather than prose on the page.
  4. Link your own Business Profile. From every town page, a real g.page, business.google.com or search.google.com/local link, not a Maps embed anyone could have pasted in.
  5. Put financing on each page. A rate, a term, or a monthly number. Hand the whole list to us with the pilot, or do it yourself and run the free check again to confirm it reads.

If you want it done.

We write the missing town pages, add the areas-served structured data, connect your Business Profile the way Google recognizes it, and add financing where it is missing, with the written plan in your hands before we touch anything. The 14 days start the next business day after you pay. It is the same work as the full eight-item checklist on the dealer page; here we start with the items that decide whether you rank for near me. The retainer afterward is optional, month to month, $997.

Questions

Will adding town pages guarantee I rank for near me searches?

No. A town page gives Google something to match a near-me search to; whether you outrank a competitor also depends on reviews, links and other signals Google weighs on its own. We can promise the page exists and reads correctly. We cannot promise the ranking.

How many town pages do I need?

One for every town where you actually run service calls or installs, not every town in your county. The report does not set a target count; it measured that only 39% of dealer sites have any town pages at all, so a real, accurate set already puts you ahead of most competitors.

I already have a Google Business Profile. Why isn't that enough?

A profile only helps your site's own ranking when the site links back to it in a form Google recognizes. On our read, 59% of dealer sites showed a map but only 16% linked their own profile that way, so an unlinked profile mostly does its work in Maps, not in your organic results.

Can you do this without touching my existing website?

Yes, for most of it. Town pages, structured data and a Business Profile link are additions, not a rebuild. We tell you in writing what we plan to add and where before anything goes live, and the $397 pilot covers doing it once.
